Dork Bloggers started out in – well to be honest – the naturally dorky way of the three administrators. On December 27th 2007, Cylithria (aka Cy1i7|-|ri4), Rachael and Sarie were all sitting at their computers in their respective homes. Having known previously of NaBloPoMo they had received an email informing them of a new and upcoming adventure along the same lines – Blog365. Unbeknownst to each of them, all three ladies went to Blog365 and signed up to become 2008 participants. Then seeing each others pics show up in the member list, the three of them Instant Messaged each other laughing. “Hey you joined – so did I!!!!”
Cylithria instantly called all three of them dorks and teasingly said “We should start a dork bloggers group on Blog365….”
Voila – Dork Bloggers was born. Cylithria IM’ed Rach and asked her to make a nifty logo for the Dork Bloggers Group on Blog 365 and within minutes our really cool logo was born as well. Within three days there were 32 members and this website was born.
Not too bad for the Three Musketeers of Dork eh?
Let’s face it folks, not all of us bloggers can sound as cool as the big time, famous, and awesome Bloggers like Dooce, Zazzafooky or Genuine…..
Most of us post on our blogs dorking our way through the blog world. There is no shame in that….. so if any of you reading this are like Rach, Sarie and I – Just dorks on the web having fun with your blogs – stop on in and join us. email Cylithria, the creator of Dork Bloggers and you too will become a member.; Post our logo on your blog’s main page and you will be listed in our Dork Bloggers Blogroll.
